The AIRS people came.... they were SUPER nice and un-biased which was SO cool... I had the pictures up on the computer for them to see from our master bath before Chris cleaned it. The Sanitation man, Brian, seemed super shocked at what he saw and immediately asked WHERE those pictures were taken and took off to check out the bathroom... but was a bit disappointed when we had bleached it! haha! But he was really nice also. He says that for sure, he thinks we will have at least a couple of inches of area of black mold when they remove the shower stall. He also thinks we probably have some under our carpets. Mary from the AIRS program gave me some ideas on what I could do to lower the risk of CJ to develop more severe allergies/asthma and things to avoid with him. They were very helpful and will be following up with me in 3 and in 6 months and I will be able to contact them with any concerns. They are going to be sending the report from today to the doctors at the Naval Clinic. They were pretty upset that Dr. Powell had written a note to housing stating that we should be moved to reduce the morbidity for CJ's issues. They also do not understand why in the heck we are hitting such a huge stone wall with housing. The Sanitation man Brian also wants to return to get up in the attic space we have. He told us exactly what is supposed to be caulked on the tub/shower in the girls bathroom... so, i can only imagine the problems lying under the shower now that they have done it wrong and then repaired it to the right way MONTHS later... The only thing that Brian had found to be an "issue" for us was the dust behind the washer and dryer which was not so serious... otherwise they were "impressed" with how well the house is with 6 people and a dog living here. It isnt easy for sure... they said they go in some real pitiful places which I can only IMAGINE what they are like. UGH... scary. Mary could tell just by looking at CJ that he is an "allergic" kid... I have heard that from a couple of people now (professionals) so I am pretty cautious about what we are going to do in life with him...
Housing will hopefully be coming out next week to repair our master shower which should have a happy moldy gift underneath for us. Balfour Beatty should be putting us up in hotel for the 3 days they are here repairing the bathroom. Chris is going to take the days off of work so that I am not in the house when they take the shower out. Chris will also be taking pics of thier "findings." the shower installation is going ot be contracted out to a private company and then they will be having our housing people do all the touch ups.
The resolution for not being able to put a window AC unit in the babies room is for me to go out and purchase a "free standing AC unit" of some sorts. I looked some up and they are in the range of the $400 dollar range... uhh... i dont think so.
Thankfully, the AIRS people were sympathetic to us... and our issues with the housing. So.. I will keep you all posted on what comes up!

Oy! I hope things come together with great speed!
Sounds like progress. Now they've confirmed that there's a problem so that's a good thing. Maybe it will speed it all up.
Hmm, new shower?? Nice. I hope whatever they find isn't too yucky!! I can only imagine what will be uncovered....
