Overuse Syndrome

That is what the doctor says I have. I need to take 2 weeks or so to recover and when I start my exercise/walking/running routine again he said to start at about 1/4 of what I was doing (which wasnt much to begin with!)
So, ugh... leave it to me to do something like this...
He gave me some Naproxen to take instead of motrin 2 times a day.... if anyone has any information regarding naproxen and nursing PLEASE PLEASE SPAM ME... seriously...
Thank you all for your support! I am NOT giving up yet! Just have to take it easy for 2 weeks! (WITH 4 KIDS! YEAH!)

At least you know what it is now and have a better idea how to approach it when you start again. It's going to be tough wanting to run more than you're supposed to, but you'll get back into the swing of things in no time at all.

Shoot, that stinks! Better to rest up and recover than to push on and injure yourself even more. So, sit back and put your feet up and relax. Oh, wait, your a mom so that won't happen! Try and relax and rest! I still think that 5k in October will be within reach.

I just noticed at least three articles on knee pain and injuries here: http://www.runnersworld.com/channel/0,7119,s6-241-0-0-0,00.html?cm_re=HP-_-Homepage%20Channel-_-Injury%20Prevention

Well you should still be able to do some sort of working out even if it's not running though, right? Gotta be something that wouldn't use your knees or cause too much impact on them. Maybe you can do some upper body stuff instead and some crunches for the time being so at least you're still working out. Some stretching too would probably be good for you. Good luck. Don't let this get you down.
