Current Going On's

#1 I called the Protestant Chaplain at the Shepherd of the Sea which is our chapel for the military base. She was very nice and a newcomer to the area. She has a very thick southern accent. We are hoping to begin attending mass regularly. The girls have been asking to "Sign up for church" and it is always something that is refreshing to attend even when I can not understand the scripture. I just don't "get it" sometimes! It is like trying to read Shakespeare for me. I guess I am not a "poetic" person. I dont know. But anyways. I scheduled for us to meet with her on Tuesday to discuss CJ's baptism. I do NOT know who I will have as his "Godparents" because my sister has sort of become an Atheist I think. Or ... well... someone who believes in Evolution type... I dont know. I dont care to discuss it with her. And my brother. Well, he is my brother and that is a long story for a super rainy day. I have a couple of people in mind. Some do not live close... some, I do not know so well... so... I am stumped as to what to do. I believe that selecting Godparents is an important one... and in all honesty... the others have been flops... well, we do not live close to Ashley's but I know they are "religious" ... I know that isnt all that goes in to it.. but, I have to say.. in regards to Religion... Ashley got the best Godparents of the 3 girls. How do you choose your child's godparents?

#2 I have been playing with my old 35 mm cameras because I found them in a cabinet with film in them and it is FUN! I can not wait to develop the pictures. Also found 2 rolls of undeveloped film that I am praying can be developed! It will be so fun to see what is on them!

#3 Sydney has a super cool haircut. Kiley now has bangs. I did Kiley's and started Sydney's until Ashley freaked out saying I was messing it up and then Sydney was panicking because I was messing her hair up... packed her up and brought her to the Salon and it is ok.. the lady said I was doing a good job! YAY ME! so... she didnt have much to repair.

Ahh yes god parents. Ours were flops too. Natalie has a great godmother (my cousin). Her godfather we don't speak to anymore. Kaitlyn's godmother we don't speak to and her godfather is my BIL and well he came back from North Carolina the beginning of July or so and didn't even bother to call us. We'll probably never see him again either. We've been debating on CJ's godparents. I thought family would be the best way to go, but obviously in one case that didn't work out too well for us. We are pretty sure who we want them to be, but haven't asked and also need to set up a baptism for him. Good luck picking yours. It's a tough choice though isn't it? I rarely see my godparents either though and my brother doesn't see his at all.

We need pictures of all these haircuts now. So please share soon ;).

The godparent choice was a tough one for me as well. Our church has VERY strict guidelines as to who can be a godparent so that limited things. I wanted my best friend but she is not married in the church (so she can't be) so we ended up with only 1 godparent... my "godmother's" son...he's 19 and like my little brother. How we decided was 2 fold...1 he met the qualiifcations and 2. I can see him having a role in AJ's life for years to come, I can also see AJ being able to go to him to discuss faith, God, scripture, and spirituality. I also know that his soon to be godfather has good morals and is someone that I want AJ to be able to go to later on his life when he can't talk to his parents. Oh my what a ramble...sorry! Our baptism is next month and it's on my mind

Oooo, the godparent decision. It's a really hard one. All three of my kid only have one godparent. I would have liked them to have two but I couldn't decide on anyone. Alex and Liam both have the same godmother and Cole's is my super close friend from high school! I made the decision based on people's walk with God. I wanted people who have been in church for a long time and I knew wouldn't drift out of our lives. So, I only had a few choices. Good luck and hopefully you can come to the right decision.
