Wordless Wednesday with a Twist...Vintage

I had a difficult time coming up with something "Vintage" that related to my life. I googled vintage and you do NOT want to know what came up. If you are curious... GOOGLE it! Well.. on the images section of course... I could have done the obvious and made my post about the pictures in my memory box that are "vintage" with my grandfather who was born in 1909... that is pretty vintage! Or.. heck... look at the pics from me of 1977 and 1978.. pretty darned vintage... but of course, creatively... I did not take them... so.. that doesnt fly in a photography contest... I wouldnt even know who took them to give them mad props! HAHA! but.. here are a couple vintage pics from my house...
When I took Sydney to the ENT... it was in this doctors office that had EVERYTHING I needed to photograph for this contest... and well.... my camera was sitting nicely on the windowsill at home. I thought it would have been a little weird if I had showed up to take pics of his office. Maybe I will take some next week and post them anyways so that everyone can see what I was talking about. Scroll on for my Vintage week story...
My sister, me and my grandfather, October 1977
Me in 1978
So, I also thought, well... maybe I will take a trip down to the USS Nautilus since we have not gone there in all the times we have been stationed here and give everyone a little bit of Vintage History of the United States Navy Submarine Force. But, ahh... life is SO hectic and I didnt quite make it down there. Always an excuse huh?
So, instead... my lovely husband received this card in the mail and we thought it ws pretty funny considering I was discussing with him my thoughts about this contest and trying to come up with something vintage and what vintage means to him. The card instead says "Classic" HAHA! That could mean "vintage" right? So.. I took a pic of him and his cute card he got for turning 32 years old that his father and "stepmother" made for him. "Classic"... what does that make them?!?!

So.... in my husbands mind... he came up with his "Vintage" Air Jordan sneakers.. which... really... in the clothing line... they are vintage. He had to order them from some website... I do not even know what it is... but they arrived to our house from China smelling like they have been stored in some warehouse since they were first manufactured. I think they came from China? I might be wrong. I better not let the kids chew on them though because they might be made of lead paint.
Remember back in the day all the cool kids had a pair of shoes with this emblem on them?
and these little plastic thingies that were on the super cool air jordan shoes?
I could have also done the obvious and taken a picture of all the super old baseball cards my husband has carried with us from place to place.... oh wait, I did take a picture! Pretty darned "vintage" if you asked me!
but what I really loved most that I found in my life that was vintage... was this little boy wearing an old vintage healthtex outfit that was in a box of hand me downs from my friend Julie's son. Martin was born March 1, 1990 so this clothing item is at least 18 years old! And it still looks FANTASTIC!!!! Especially on my little guy!
Here is CJ so happy to be wearing Mister Martin's clothes that he spit up sweet potatoes and Applesauce on them!
oh... and there is that "vintage" ol' man of mine! 30 years old is old right?!?! So.. 32 is REALLY old?!??! HAHAH!!!! I Love you honey! thank you for being an awesome Daddy... and Husband.
DONT FORGET! YOU CAN ALL JOIN IN ON THE FUN WITH RACHEL, THE AMERICAN MUM!
Thank you for hosting such a fun and creative contest!

First I must say I love the old photos of you! Isn't it fun to look back on your life through pictures? (the 70s were so fashionable don't you think? haha!)

Secondly, I love that you were able to reuse your "vintage" outfit with your son. How special!

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing :)
