OK.. so.. it is once again Memorial Day.... to honor our fallen soldiers/sailors/Airmen.. etc.. Sydney is so funny because she said... I am going to remember Helen this memorial day. Helen is Chris's grandmother who passed away this year... she is his Mother's mother... and ever since the day Chris was taken away from his mother when he was 8 years old... Helen has wanted nothing to do with Chris or our children. She disowned him when all the events that had unraveled had NOTHING to do with Chris. He was a child.. but of course this isnt anything that Sydney would ever be able to understand.... But it is funny for her to be so focused on Helen...
We made several attempts to make contact with her and get her involved in the lives of her great grandchildren and she didnt take the opportunity to allow us to do so....
So.. now I will have to teach my children the real meaning of memorial day.... and to remember our American Soldiers....
And to remember their Great Uncle Brad and his ultimate sacrifice....
"I would accept death before I would lose my honor."
