A Bell Family Update

I have/had strep throat. That was NOT fun... well, I still have it, but the first few hours of it were AWFUL! Every time I fell asleep Saturday night and would have to swallow, I would wake up and it hurt so badly! OMG... So, needless to say, I didnt get much sleep... or rather... no sleep. When the baby was up for the day, I whispered in to Chris's ear that I was going to the ER. I left with baby in tow since I am his food vessicle... and off I went. They did the strep swab and that always is so joyous with its gagging festivities you KNOW are going to happen. I have NEVER in my life had strep throat... and it is AWFUL... I guess I didnt know what I was missing out on! NO FUN. They told me to call in 24 hours to get the results of the culture because they were going to grow it for 24 hours. I also got some generic Bactroban for my nose. The doc was worried about the spot on my nose getting Cellulitis or something. It still looks AWFUL... I will post a picture that is NOT photoshopped with my pulsating nose brain on it. The lab called me yesterday shortly after 8 am and not even remotely close to being 24 hours for the swab to let me know I needed to fill the prescription because it was certain that I had strep throat. Of course, when I was in the ER I kept repeating over and over to the doctors and nurses that I am ONLY nursing my son. I did not want any errors in prescriptions that would put my son in harm's way regarding medications being passed on to him through the breastmilk. I was given the Amoxycillin 500 mg or something like that. IT IS A GOD SEND! Within a couple hours I could feel it really starting to work. I felt as if Strep Throat had a certain taste. The only thing now is that if my throat gets too dry it can still hurt to swallow and if I yawn, I can't yawn all the way. IT HURTS... so hopefully those will resolve soon enough. I bought some yogurt today to eat because I dont want any yeast issues to start. I do not know if the Amoxycillin will put me at risk of having thrush or not or the baby, but I hope to ward it off. I am no nursing guru so ... I will just pretend I know something for now!
So, Sunday, Chris took the girls out for almost all of the day so I could attempt resting even though mister high needs really would not even let me... but it was peaceful. When he came home, he told me the brakes on our "good" car were squeeking. They had been thumping for a while now so he informed me my monday was going to be spent getting the damages fixes... nearly 800.00 later, our brakes are nice and new. Everything was a mess... I dont know all the terms or parts or whatever... but we ALSO need new tires. We are going to shop around a bit for those and then get them put on. While I was waiting for the estimate I walked to Walmart with Kiley in tow and the baby in the stroller. I wish our double jogger was up and running... but you have to also remember, I am not even 24 hours in to my Amoxycillin at this point! Kiley did amazing well with the walk and the baby was not irritible. I dropped off my prescription in Walmart and walked around and spent much too much money on things in there... then I had to tie all the bags to my stroller. Kiley got upset with me when we left Walmart because she had wanted a soda. All they had was Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist Free and some Diet Pepsi. I am not too fond of her having those. So, I bought her a nice Aquafina. She didnt want that. She wanted "The Green One". Ahh... just walk with mommy please! We then walked all the way back down towards the car repair shop and went to KFC... this isnt something that is just RIGHT by the repair shop. BUT we did it! We had lunch, I nursed CJ successfully in KFC once he was in a nice angry mood. That was a bit weird... but I managed. I am not the best at nursing in public. I have a large chest! (TMI) So... Kiley also had to use the bathroom mid nursing session with my stroller tied up with LOTS of Walmart bags, Diaper bag etc... I couldnt quite drag all of that in to a little KFC bathroom. THEN we were informed she would need to use the men's room as the women's would not flush. AAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Just as we were finishing the meal we got the glorious call that our car was READY! YIPPPPEEE! So, off we went. We got our car, our big bill and a nice safe ride home.
Today I am feeling ALOT better. I am tired tonite. CJ does not sleep well at night at all. His longest stretch is sometimes (SOMETIMES) between 3-4 hours. IF I AM LUCKY. Then after that he is cluster feeding in bed with me... every 45 minutes t0 1 and a half hours. he loves me. I guess.. BUT the bad thing is I think some of it is due to him wanting to just suckle more than eat. My nose is still monstrous scary. Maybe I should have it checked for MRSA. I will see how it is in the morning. I did some gardening. Sat outside with Kiley and CJ today. Hung out with the neighbor and her son.
Oh, and last night our girls softball season officially began! I am TEAM MOM! GO ME! ANNNNNND Chris is going to be the Assistant Coach! He helped out during the entire practice last night . I guess they are going to be making hats for us with our names on them. Chris as the assistant Coach... and me as the TEAM MOM...
YAY! That is our update for now... I am sure I am missing ALOT... ramble ramble....
(I cant upload pics... Darnit)

Hey Erin,
We just got tires from Sears for our van. They are Good Year tires so a good name brand and they were $50 a tire. Best price we can find. Search around on the internet. That's how we found ours. Good luck. Hope you're feeling better. Doesn't sound like you are getting much chance to rest.
