OK... I just scrolled through the pics and because my camera is on its last leg... it doesnt take very good pics and you can hardly tell in some of them that there were hives.... the one of his legs may have been an accident but I do know he had them all over the back of his legs almost where the diaper touched his legs... and I thought it was because I had put a generic diaper on him. MAYBE that does still have something to do with it... but I dont fully know yet!
I managed to scare the bejeezus out of myself when googling possibilities (SHOULDNT A MOTHER KNOW SHE NEEDS TO STAY AWAY FROM GOOGLE?!).... I wont even get in to how the Navy had sent us a stupid letter telling us we needed to use WebMD before making our way to the walk in clinic when we cant get appointments at the Navy Clinic. Jerks. I am so glad WebMD can administer needed medications and take Xrays and what not...
ok, that was a small rant...
One of the things that had scared me was that the LAST day I nursed my son was on Saturday 4/4/09 and ... 2 days later he broke out in a rash. on his extremeties and not on his trunk.. on his face, his ears... and this is what we found...
That really had us worried and I printed out the paperwork. This was after the appointment with the primary care and getting the prednisone. But, since the bloodwork came back as having the allergy, I am a lot more at ease. He fit a lot of the characteristics but I would not consider him an "infant" and with the amount of breastmilk he has been getting since starting foods, I would imagine that he would have had signs of that condition long before now.
and yes... it is bittersweet to say that my son is weaned. He still arches his back for the breast and tries to lift my shirt.... I am happy to say that I have not experienced any engorgement so I can only imagine how little breastmilk he was getting..... my sweet baby boy. I will treasure those moments no matter how difficult they were at times...
