Aloha Friday!

Welcome to Aloha Friday!
If you want to play along visit An Island Life!

My Question This week is....

Does anyone in your house suffer from allergies? Of any sorts. What remedy or medicine do you have to use?

My answer...

We have all been bombarded this week with allergies. Or what we believe to be allergies. It seems everyone in the area suddenly began suffering from them on Sunday. INCLUDING us. I do not take anything. I purchased some benadryl tablets of some sorts for my husband. I dont think he took them though. My Sydney takes Singulair nightly but I do not think it is working for her. She had blood work but nothing came back so they treat the symptoms.

My son is allergic to Peanuts and possibly sunflower seeds/oil etc. We arent certain about the sunflower but he does get broken out from them. We think. He is only 18 months so we dont know for sure. We had tried sunbutter on a sandwich which made me think Jelly was a problem. BUT.. it isnt jelly. We have an epi pen for him.

Have a GREAT FRIDAY And WEEKEND!!!

No food allergies. I sometimes get seasonal allergies. But it's not too bad. We just take the costco brand of claritin. There is a ton of dust in my house - I can't contain it, as much as I try. And I think it's causing me to have a scratchy throat at bedtime. I am going to get one of those small air cleaners soon to see if it helps at all.

I have "seasonal allergies" but they last all year. I take a Costco allergy pill but it doesn't work well enough and I am going to ask for something better next time I go to the doctor.

Oooh, that's rough w/ the peanut/sunflower oil allergy. Glad you have the epi pen.

We've all got seasonal allergies but I'm also allergic to narcotics & ibuprofen.

Oh yes! I have seasonal allergies pretty bad, although I notice they're worse in the fall than the spring. I started taking Alevert recently and it seems to work pretty good for me.

Yes, many of us have allergies. My oldest son has been to an allergist. We are not controlling things with generic Claritin, QVar inhaler and have been good enough not to need his nebulizer or rescue inhaler. Hubby, our little guy and I also take generic Claritin. Yesterday I also started taking Symbicort. Since I had my little guy my allergies have been wild. I was unable to do anything last week since I had an allergic reaction to walnuts (I now carry an EpiPen for myself). This should get my lungs back to speed and then I can stop it.

Good luck finding something that works for all of you. Often times it is trial and error.

Luckily no - my husband does have asthma though and he uses a prescription inhaler.

Oh yes we suffer.. here from allergies. My husband is allergic to all kinds of stuff.

My poor son is severely allergic to peanuts..and other things. But peanuts is the main one. We carry an epi pen as well. I actually carry an emergency kit with us all the time.
