I was released from Madigan Army Medical Center after a short 20 day stint on the ante-partum and post partum unit. I had an awesome roomate for 16 of the days.... a forever friend who has made a huge impact on my life.... Her name is Annie and she was pregnant with twin boys with TTTS....

Hayden and Kevin were born on 1/9/05... but unfortunately, Kevin passed away a short 6 days later.... 6 days longer than he was expected to be with us here on earth...

I was hospitalized on 12/3/04 because I had a complete placenta previa... and lived too far from medical facilities that would be able to save me and my precious daughter should I start bleeding. I was 34 weeks pregnant... I had an amniocentesis done at 36 weeks. Kiley was not yet mature... so, I was given steroids and 2 days later, 12/19/04, I had my precious little girl. She weighed 6lbs 1oz and was born at 11:23 am PST. She was a very small little thing compared to my 8+ lb Whoppers I had .... She unfortunately had to stay in the NICU with the only sure "diagnosis" being immature bowels... so, even though her lungs developed, her bowels were not quite ready. She was released from the hospital on 1/6/05... her very first Christmas and New Year spent in the NICU. She was the big "healthy" baby in there.... it was a scary road for us as there were many possibilities as to what was wrong with her. She struggled with bowel issues all the way up until she was potty trained. It was an experience that was trying... but... I would not change anything... ever.... I can still smell the NICU... I can still remember how it all felt... I had a heplock in my hand the entire time... well, not just my hand but I will spare the details.... but we made it....
Rest in Peace Sweet Baby Kevin

My twin nephews just spent their first Christmas in the NICU too! They were born December 18th...just a day before your daughter's birthday!
Your pics are beautiful.
