Where have we been?????
I will start with the baby.... he is now 15 1/2 months old and is still nursing. I attempted to wean for about 36 hours and whoa... not the right timing. I was in MISERY. He was ok most of that time but then, it all hit the fan and he wanted what he wanted and I was so relieved! I was not going to be able to exercise with the incredulous pain... ugh ugh ugh. He is such a spitfire. He keeps us on our toes for sure. A couple of weeks ago he played superman off the couch and actually ended up passing out. I brought him to the ER. When he had initially fallen, he cried. Then, he ended up going limp and pale and it seemed as if he was not breathing. I would estimate between 5-8 seconds of him being out. He seemed ok when he was looked over by an AWESOME nurse practitioner. So personable. So friendly. So great with my son! I wish more medical professionals were that caring and compassionate. I ended up being one of those people that everyone gripes about in the ER waiting room. The person who comes in and walks right in to be seen... unbeknownst to everyone that he had trauma. It is typically what happens when I bring Sydney in to an ER.... she LOOKS ok... so, why would she go in first... CJ was the same way that night.
CJ loves to
Kiley. Hmmm..... She has been giving me a hard time with going to school most days. She says she would rather play at home. Although, since spring is around the corner, I think she is going to be more excited about going to school because they are going out on to the playground and they are not just going out to the bicycles which is something she rides at home on a regular basis. She has been doing a postcard project with her class and has received quite a few from friends and family. So, if you are from somewhere unique... and want to surprise her class with a cool postcard, let me know! She is still a fighter with bedtime and with doing her daily tasks. She has become quite the little whiz kid on the computer. She likes Noggin and Nickjr online. I do not know why we have a small fortune in Webkinz around here! She has a good friend she likes to play with at Sydney's basketball games and practices which is ending this week. We will definitely be meeting up with them. The little girl actually has Hemophilia which is very rare in girls! Thankfully, they lived by the national center for hemophilia when the problem was detected. Kiley loves this little girl and looks forward to meeting up with her. It is funny because the little girl always wears a dress or skirt and .... the girl also wears a helmet .... Kiley never ever even realizes that the little girl is different. She dresses up in skirts and dresses like her little friend... but doesnt even mention the helmet. I love this age that they do not notice difference. She is the typical peer in her classroom and her teacher raves about how Kiley is the exact student they are looking for in the classroom. She has been getting over her dental anxiety which has been a life saver. She has 2 small fillings that need to be done which should be no real issue! YAY!
Sydney has been having a major attitude lately. I really think her behavior is being influenced by peers in her class. She was never like this until she was in this class. I do not even want to start on that topic. I am disgusted. She is almost done with basketball. Her team has won every game so far. She has scored once! What a glorious moment that was. She has been doing well. She has learned many skills and has confidence in herself and doesnt seem bothered by much of what is going on around her. She is ok with not touching the ball and with bouncing back and forth on the court. She is not the best player by any means... but her spirit out there is great and she doesnt quit. She has been emotional lately... and sassy. I cant stand the sassy part and hope it is a phase. She has a neurology appointment on the 26th. So, we shall see what they say considering we have not followed up since before she had her catheterization with ablation back in November. She has had some sinus stuff and also had the high fever flu which she ended up on antibiotics due to co-morbidity issues. Ah well. She had her first dental appointment in a long time where she does not have to return for 6 months! YAY!
Ashley is a worrier. She has been experiencing stomach pains on a regular basis which could be to the hype for the CMT tests that they gear this kids up for all year long in the 3rd grade here in CT. So, I brought her to the doctor today and they prescribed her Zantac which I have to give her for a couple of weeks to see how she is doing. It is possible it could be related to acid in her stomach... but she could also be displaying symptoms like my husband has. She still weighs only 54lbs. I think she has weighed this for years! I asked him to look back and he went back to Jan when she weighed 53 something (could have been wearing shoes) Ah well. She is doing great in basketball. She is definitely one of the smaller girls on her team and in the league. She is building confidence but she has not been able to score at all this season. Her team has lost every game so far. They have 2 games left. BUT their spirits are NOT broken! They keep on trying. Such a wonderful group of hard working girls out there on the court. She has the dentist on April 1st and I think she will need some braces or something because her overbite is so bad. I am definitely going to be asking about it because it is something I do not want her to become self conscious about. The poor thing. She is worrying about the smallest things lately. She worries someone will look at her, make fun of her, yell at her. This is not a good thing because she will often go without things that she really wants or needs. A friend of mine who is a teacher at another elementary school in the district will be helping Ashley with some of her math skills. I do not think her teacher is sensitive to her needs like her previous 2 teachers have been. We have started attending a new church. It isn't "New" but it is New to us. She has really enjoyed going to the sunday school. She also enjoys the services because they have some contemporary ones which have been enjoyable for her. Sydney doesnt seem as enthused... Kiley is having fun but sitting through service is difficult for her but she does it! It is a new step in our lives which is going to be beneficial to all of us. Ashley turned 9 last sunday. I can not believe I am the mother to a 9 year old... she is now 1/2 way to moving out on her own..... college, military... who knows. We will support whatever choice she makes. She will be double digits next year! I can not believe it! She had a wonderful birthday and she is looking forward to having her small sleepover when I plan it!

Sounds like things are going well ;). Natalie is double digits this year. She doesn't want to be. I'll let you know how it is though ;). They grow up so fast. Thankfully my CJ is lots more cautious so far than yours is though, hehehehehe. Although, now that he's got his helmet off the bruises are coming. Anyways, it is definitely different than the girls though. My CJ is the problem solver ;). I'm amazed at his ability with shape sorters. It's fun to see their minds work.
