When I first saw this weeks topic of picture taking, I thought of taking pictures of common items from a different view point. I had been having a difficult time walking due to having overuse syndrome in both of my knees so I started snapping pictures while sitting in my parents driveway of common things I have grown to know. Actually, it is my grandparent's house. My grandmother is 91 and still in the nursing home and has decided she wants to sell her home. This is the same home that was promised to my mother many years ago by my grandfather. Now, my uncle has staked a claim in his name... and it is not to be. My parents are living in the house getting it ready to be sold now. My mother grew up in this house and later moved in to a home 4 doors down to raise me and my siblings when we were growing up. It is amazing to watch one chapter close and another one open for my parents.
Then, since taking the pictures of the memories of my grandmother's house, CJ has started pulling up on everything and crawling and scooting and just... being SO mobile and getting a whole new view on the world around him! He now looks at things far away and knows he can get them vs. only paying attention to the few little things right by his sides! I cant believe how much he has grown up in the past week or so. so, my son now has a "different view" of the world.... Enjoy!!!
and, everyone hop on over and visit Rachel at American Mum and join in on the fun!
this is the downspout to the old copper gutters on my grandmother's house. I do not think they even put copper gutters on homes anymore. She still has them on the front of the house but someone stole all the copper gutters off the back of the house because you can get money for copper.
This hammer has had its days... it is being used to get the house ready to be sold. Becoming old and weary in the process.
This is the lock on the door to the storm door (I think is what it is) on my grandmother's house. Over my whole life, this is the door that has brought me in to my grandmother and grandfather's house. For my whole 30 years of life, this has been the door I know my grandparent's would be behind... and now that the house is being sold, it is like losing a part of my life that has just always been there and in all honesty, I have taken it all for granted... never ever thought that one day it wouldn't be....
Some dumbells that my father left outside and they got weathered. These have seen better days for my father as well. He is now medically disabled and not able to be as faithful to his weights...
When I am driving along the highway, I can not see CJ as he is rear facing.. I was driving Sydney to her Cardiology appointment, getting lost, when I heard a noise in the backseat. Sydney had gone in to my diaper bag and had pulled out the camera and started taking pictures of the baby in the back seat! This is a view I NEVER EVER see!!! So, it is kind of cute that I now have pictures! HAH!
I guess Sydney took this one as I asked her what noise was coming from the backseat!
WOW! I can PULL MYSELF UP and see a whole new world of things! Just in the past few days CJ has really started exploring different HEIGHTS of things in the house! He has a whole new view of the world now!
And the coffee table has interesting things on it! Sometimes he even rolls under the coffee table and looks at me through the glass panels in it. The coffee table will be getting removed from the living room temporarily until he is more steady and stops tipping over and bonking his head!
Every parents FAVORITE thing to step on in the night... the dreaded lego block. OUCH... these things seems to always find their way in the path to the bathroom at 4am.
HEY LOOK! I CAN STAND UP IN MY CRIB! THINGS REALLY LOOK DIFFERENT FROM THIS ANGLE! Thank you Daddy for putting my crib all the way down before we had a major accident!

I'm so sorry about the house being sold. I can't imagine what I would do if my Grandmother's house (and the one that I grew up in) was sold. It's like a member of our family.
